Margaret Moody Puppets
Description:
Mr. Badger is thrilled to meet Blossom, a flower fairy, in the garden. He flies away with her to help the fairies build a playground. But then it’s complicated: the fairies won’t use cement. And Mr. Badger wants to learn to fly! This gentle tale is based on European fairy lore.
Artist Bio:
Margaret Moody loves puppets that can do more than their human counterparts, especially ones that know how to fly. In "Badger Meets the Fairies," she uses Bu Dai Xi style puppets and movement based on her study with the I Wan Jan Traditional Hand Puppet Troupe in Taiwan. Margaret performs in libraries, schools, theaters and at private events throughout New England. She also enjoys collaborating with Dream Tale Puppets, led by Jacek Zuzanski and Galapagos Puppets, a New Jersey troupe led by Madeleine Beresford. Margaret lives in Arlington, MA and is a studio artist at Arlington Center for the Arts.
Peter Lehmen plays plucked strings—the Renaissance lute, theorbo, and mandolin. All demand different techniques, read from different notations, and represent a wide variety of musical styles. Lately, in addition to accompanying the puppet theater, Peter founded and performs with the jazz trio The C#s—breaking down barriers and forging his own unique approach.
Peter holds performance degrees from Ithaca College School of Music and the New England Conservatory, where many moons ago he received a Masters in the Performance of Early Music. Post graduate studies were at the Scola Cantorum Basiliensis with Hopkinson Smith and Eugen Dombois.
